HUMAN RESOURCE

Nalanda has a competent and dynamic core team, which is involved in decision-making and functioning of the organization at various levels. At the macro level, Nalanda has the following key human resources:
 
Biswajit Sen (President)
He has been working in community based rural development projects for the last 22 years in various NGOs and holds an MBA from I.I.M. Ahemadabad. Mr. Sen has been instrumental in the creation of not one but a handful of NGOs, one of them being Nalanda. He has been involved in building up PRADAN as a national level NGO, and Grameen Development Services as a field NGO for Uttar Pradesh. Besides, he has assisted different grassroots basic education projects in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Mr. Sen has been a Management Consultant for a number of national and international development agencies such as Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC); UNICEF, World Bank; MacArthur Foundation, India. He has specialized in management of education projects in the last eight years. Mr. Sen is currently 50 years of age.

Prabhat Jha (Executive Director and Secretary)
Mr. Jha, a post-graduate in Rural Management from Xavier’s Institute of Social Services (XISS), is 41 years of age and has working experience in the field of Primary Education of more than fourteen years. He has written many children’s books in Hindi, which include ‘Aao Bacchon Khelen Khel’, ‘Bihar Ke Gauranwit Vyaktitwa’, ‘Jano Sakhi’, ‘Sikho Sakhi’ etc. and has been a member of book development committee of Jan Shiksha Nideshalay, Patna. Mr. Jha has vital exposure to Bihar Education Project (BEP) and District Resource Unit (DRU). He is also a valuable Training of Trainers (TOT) resource.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Nalanda has suitable infrastructure facilities to make it a seamless workplace. Each of its state headquarters at Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand has well furnished office space along with conference rooms. The field offices are also suitably equipped for the purpose for which they have been opened. Each of the main state offices has computers, laptops, Internet connectivity, photocopiers, printers and facsimile machines.

LIBRARY
Library is a vital infrastructure for Nalanda and as such merits a special mention. Each of Nalanda’s libraries has about X books in Hindi and English.
